Conversion Analytics & Funnel Tracking
Overview
Cartly's Conversion Analytics tracks the key stages of your customers' purchase journey. The funnel visualization on your Analytics dashboard shows where customers drop off so you can prioritize improvements.
The Conversion Funnel
Four events are tracked automatically — no code required:
- View — A product page was viewed
- Add to Cart — A product was added to the cart
- Checkout — A customer started the checkout process
- Purchase — An order was completed successfully
Reading the Dashboard
- Go to Admin → Analytics
- Find the Conversion Funnel card
The funnel shows the count for each stage and the conversion rate between stages. For example: 1,200 views → 340 add-to-carts (28%) → 180 checkouts (53%) → 140 purchases (78%).
Interpreting the Data
- Low view → add-to-cart rate — Product pages may need better photos, clearer pricing, or more compelling descriptions
- Low add-to-cart → checkout rate — Cart abandonment is high; consider abandoned cart recovery emails
- Low checkout → purchase rate — Checkout friction; review shipping costs, payment options, and checkout UX
Date Range
Use the date range selector at the top of the Analytics page to filter the funnel to a specific time period. Comparing date ranges helps you measure the impact of promotions or store changes.
Notes
- Events are tracked per-shop. Data is not shared between shops.
- Bot traffic and admin views are excluded from funnel counts.
