Offering pickup-point and parcel-locker delivery at checkout
What Is Pickup-Point Delivery?
Pickup-point delivery lets your customers collect their order from a nearby pickup point or parcel locker instead of waiting for door delivery. For many shoppers this is faster, and it can also reduce your delivery costs compared to door-to-door service.
Connecting a Delivery Carrier
To offer pickup-point delivery, connect a delivery carrier from App Store → Apps. Once connected, the carrier's live shipping rates — including any pickup-point or parcel-locker options it supports — become available at checkout alongside your existing shipping zones and rates.
Controlling Which Options Appear
You decide which delivery options and tariffs are shown to shoppers. Review the carrier's connection settings in Settings → Apps & Integrations to enable or disable specific delivery options, so checkout only ever shows the choices that make sense for your store.
The Checkout Experience
At checkout, a shopper who qualifies for pickup-point delivery sees it as an option alongside standard door delivery. Choosing a pickup point lets them browse a map or list of nearby locations and select the one that is most convenient for them.
Creating a Shipment and Waybill
Once an order is placed, open the order in your admin and click the shipment action on the order page. This creates the carrier shipment in one click and generates a printable waybill you can attach to the package. You do not need to open a separate carrier dashboard.
Tracking Delivery Status
After a shipment is created, delivery status updates flow back to Cartly automatically through the carrier's webhooks and are shown directly on the order — no manual status checks required.
Why a Phone Number Is Required
Cartly now requires a contact phone number on the shipping address for every buyer. Carriers use this number to reach the recipient, particularly for pickup-point and parcel-locker deliveries, which reduces failed or delayed deliveries.
